At
A Flight Above we understand how hard it can be to
obtain such a large amount of money for schooling. We want
to make the application process as easy as we can for our
students. Therefore we will start by explaining the programs
that we currently have to offer.
1)
Utah Valley State College Global Aviation Degree Program:
A
Flight Above offers professional helicopter training through
Utah Valley State College. This program offers a great Alternative
Loan through Wells Fargo, Sallie Mae, and Mountain America
Credit Union. These loans can be found at
www.uvscaviation.com To apply for this program a student
must be enrolled at UVSC in the Global Aviation Degree Program.
The student must take at least 6 credits per semester to
be eligible for financial aid. To begin the
process to be enrolled in this program, you must first apply
for your loan with your lender of choice, second, apply
to be a student with UVSC and finally, register for your
aviation courses. We have included a sheet with helpful
hints to follow to make the process easier for you.
2)
SLM, A SALLIE MAE COMPANY
The
Career Training loan is a great program that we offer as
well. SLM, A Sallie Mae Company is who the loans are offered
through. There are many different repayment plans, as well
as low interest rates. To apply for this loan, you must
contact A Flight Above and set up an appointment with Dana.
3)
Pilot Finance ,Inc.
In
this program the student must repay the loan as they go.
Meaning the payment is based on how many flight lessons
you fly per week. An example of this can be found
in their brochure. They can also be found at www.pilotfinance.com.
A loan application can be obtained through A Flight Above.
** Please note, that with any of the above mentioned loans,
your chances of getting approved are best if you have a
cosigner. Plus it can lower the interest rate as well!

Below
we have outlined the steps to apply for one of the following
alternative loans. It is very simple to apply, with quick
results. After applying they will give you a response within
24 hours or less (In most cases immediate).
Click
onto step #6 - Apply for
Financial Aid on
the right hand side of page. (You have to click on this
two separate times.)
Next
click on #2 - Private
Alternative Applications.
Then
you will see the page "Global Aviation Students",
click on #2 - Alternative Loan Applications.
Next
you will see a page with the different lenders to choose
from:
- Wells Fargo Collegiate Loan
- Sallie Mae Signature Student Loan
- Mountain America Alternative Line of Credit
Click
on the logo of the loan you choose to apply for, and you'll
find APPLY NOW. After applying for your loan you
should have an answer within 24 hours.
Note:
On the application it will ask which school your attending.
Make sure you click on Utah Valley State College, NOT
A Flight Above. Also adding a cosigner could help with approval
and/or interest rates.

After
apply for your loan, the next steps are absolutely necessary
for you to complete before the beginning of the semester.
All steps must be complete for you to receive your first
loan dispersement at the start of the semester.
Apply
for acceptance into UVSC. This can be done@ www.uvscaviation.com.
There will be an application fee. This must be paid
for the request to be processed.
Upon acceptance
you will need to access your UV ID. This can be doneon the "Get Started"
column on the website.
Complete
Web Start also in the "Get Started" Column.
Alternative
Loan Counseling and Quiz. This can be found @
www.uvscaviation.com
on the alternative loan page. Just click on it, and
it is all done online. When finished you will print
out a certificate and fax it to UVSC.
Global
Aviation - Alternative Release form. This can
also be done on the same page as #3 (above). Fill
it out and fax it to UVSC.
Register
for your classes. This is also done @ www.uvscaviation.com,
or you can call 1-888-901-7192. Make sure you register
for the same classes as you filled out on the previous
form (the Release form). To find a current list of
classes go to Degree and then Click on AAS Degree.
Pay
your Tuition. This can also be done when you call
to register. You can be reimbursed later from your
loan. Tuition must be paid to secure your spot in
your classes.
