Commercial Pilot Training Program A commercial certificate allows a pilot to work for compensation.  To  obtain a commercial certificate a pilot must already have a private certificate.  The time from the private certificate will be applied toward the commercial.  For a student attending class full time, 6 days a week, it is possible to finish the course in 3 months.  There is however no time limit, and it is up to the student to determine the length of the course. Flight time requirements for a commercial certificate: 150 hours total time   100 hours pilot in command   Helicopter Rental is $250.00 per hour Professional Ground School Training is $45.00 per hour FAA Test $450.00 Materials $300.00 A commercial pilots certificate should cost APPROXIMATELY, $24,600.00.  This  price is for a person who holds a private certificate and has 60 hours flight time.
